Not sure what prop to run?
I am running a 16x52 polar kraft with a 23hp mblt on it. The prop is shot and I need to replace it but I'm not sure of a couple things.
1. Who makes a durable prop? 2. Which size and pitch do I need?
The prop on there now is worn down a quarter to half inch and the cups are gone off it. The top speed with me and the gas can was 14-15mph and it would plane the boat. When we load it for hunting (2-3 guys, dog, decoys, and gear) it slows down to 7-8mph and won't plane.
3. Will a new 9x6 prop make a big difference or should I switch to a different size or pitch? 4. I have heard Mercury makes a very tough prop but can't find them anywhere... anyone know who carries them? 5. Would a smaller prop with more rpms be a benefit to me or no?
Just looking for some advice before I run out and spend a bunch of money on a prop and get the wrong thing.

Re: Not sure what prop to run?
So basically when I get a new prop (9x6) it will make a huge difference in how much power it has?
