Post Camo Wraps on a duck boat
Has anyone ever used this company for wrapping their boat? If so how hard was it to put on? Also how is it holding up I have a Gator Trax that needs a new camo job.

Better off painting it. WHEN moisture gets behind the wrap its coming off.

Paint it...little more work but worth it in the long run. How much is the camo warp for the boat? Camo-Designs in Lafayette does a awesome job and for a fair price.

I had a buddy that camo wrapped his truck and his boat. Been almost 2 years. The truck still looks like the day he did it. He sold the boat about 2 months ago and still looked like it was just done. No problems with it peeling or tearing. I'll try to get some pictures and post them up.

My boat was wrapped when I bought it I hated it. It was CamoClad Max 4 I peeled it all off and repainted it. Well worth the time to do that. I ran it with the Camo Clad for the first year it peeled off in spots and faded, even though i kept my boat in the garage. PAINT IT

I am painting my boat now. A little pre-season project. I am using Styx River Shadow Grass stencil. I have put on the first two coats. I am going to paint the grass this weekend, if I find the time. I have done some touch up since this photo. It is a very tedious project. Here is a good link I found that is helpful. I wish I had seen it before I painted the first two coats. You will need at least 4 painting kits. The standard package does not even come close to finishing the job. I am also going to buy some olive drab to blend in the grass a little better.

Here is a picture of it so far.

These 2 boats are done by a custom wrap company. The only Knicks or tears are actually from loading and unloading.

Post Re: Camo Wraps on a duck boat
My best friend owns a large graphic company, and recently I sold a hydro graphics business (gun dipping ect..) from experience save your self the money and paint it. The 3M vinyl we use is some of the best in the industry. We use it on indy cars that go around the track at over 220 miles per hour, however, the abuse these boats take the wrap would tear, and begin to peal. There are some tuff laminates we can put over the vinyl to protect it, but the first time you sideswipe a log or a stump and tear it, its done. I printed a lay out in nat gear for my boat, weeded out the material, and made a template that extended the entire boat. Clean, scuff, Clean again, and when you think its clean, Clean it again, then pain it with single stage paint. you will save yourself a ton of money!! I have never priced a boat wrap, but a car wrap is between 2k and 10k.
