I got this off of the SPORTSMAN !!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH 10-8 TACTICAL GEAR AND SUPPLY LOCATED AT:5644 Jefferson Hwy. New Orleans, LA 70123 In January 2010,I dropped off a rifle to have one minor repair (ejector replacement). I was told by the clerk that it would be no problem to make the repairs,so I left my equipment in the possession of 10-8. As the months rolled by, I made repeated contacts (1 call every 2 or 3 months) with 10-8 Tactical in regards to my gun. I was given the 'run-around' with every call. For example, on the first call, I was told that the part was ordered. A few months later, I was told that he was still waiting on the part. Another few months later, I was told that the part did not exist and that they would have to machine a new part for me. By the last time I called, it had been 8 months, and no repairs were even attempted. I went into the store only to be humiliated and treated rudely. I was told that 'my gun wasn't the only gun he had to repair'. When I questioned as to why it takes 8 months he got loud and combative. I then asked him to re-assemble my equipment so I could find another gunsmith to make the repairs. On the day I went in to pick up my un-repaired gun, I informed the clerk that his shop was recommended to me by a mutual friend and that I was dissapointed in the stores performance and lack of customer service. The clerk then started yelling at me (No kidding, he was yelling) and told me to leave his store before he had me arrested. I asked him why he wouldn't hear me out, and he said that I had 2 choices: listen to him or get out of his store. I am not sure what spurred his rage and loss of composure, but his language was foul, aggressive, and antagonistic while he became increasingly angry. I actually began to worry about my personal safety at that moment. I informed him that I was going to report this incident on Louisiana Sportsman. His reply was 'F&%$ck You!!' He screamed these words at me, and told me that I would be arrested if I ever came back to his shop. 10-8 Tactical Gear & Supply is (in my estimation) a poorly structured business whos focus is never centered on customer service.

Send a buddy with a hidden Camera to pick up your gun. If he gets the same reaction, you would know what to do with it.

I don’t know the place but I wouldn’t form an opinion on what one disappointed guys says.

And what kind of Respectable Gun Loving Louisianan would leave his gun somewhere for 8 months and only check on it every 3 months.

i dont doubt the post. most, not all, but most gun stores and or the salesperson at the gun counter of a retailer, are freaks. again i say most, but not all stores.

its like they are the know all of firearms and you dont know chit. retail stores are the worst. a guy findly gets on the gun counter after doing a month in shoes. never even shot a gun. now he is the expert gun man because he has a key to the gun rack.

small shops can be as bad. dude always a hog leg strapped on his side and looks like he is straight out of the malisha camp. probally has a t-shirt on that says somethin about gun rights or killin osoma. may even have bdu's on with jungle boots. has a younger groupe always around hanging on his every word. yah, you know the one, just got promoted from shoes to the gun counter at wall-mart or dicks.

8 or 9 out of ten shops are like the above. if you ever find the one or two good ones you will always go back. ive seen a many gun shops go under because the owner operator is a freak, and wont listen to what the customes wants or needs.

I work around the corner and I could believe it. The guys are dicks and they think if your not a cop you cant go in there. I went in there a while back just looking around and when I talked to them they kinda talked down to you. Prob the worst gun store around here thats for sure.

I kinda get nausiated every time I go to Academy and stop anywhere near the gun section. The chit those idiots behing the counter say is unreal. I overheard one the other night telling a couple about the grips on a revolver being designed so that "it would be impossible for a bad guy to get this gun out of my hands" due to the little rubber knobs molded into the grip....
