 How tight should she be???
Ok I burned up my stock prop on my 24 MB HD. I bought a "used" but not used prop that was a 11x10 "HEX". Turned out I needed a threaded prop. So I posted it up for what I had in it. Guy I sold it to is having a hard time getting it on. Said that he tried heating it up, banging it on and it is just is a tad to tight. Does anyone have any advise how to get her to fit? Is it "normal" for it to be tough to get on or should she slide right on? I had thought I had read that you can dremel the inside just a touch and feather down enough to fit. The guy I bought if from assured me it was a stock MB prop and would fit my motor, we just did not realize it was a threaded shaft. I hate to think that the guy can't use it and I will buy it back if needed. Just trying to figure out what the deal is before I sell it and the next guy has the same problem. Thanks, BC

let me get this right. its a hex prop you bought. then found out you needed a threaded prop. you sold the hex prop to a guy with a hex shaft, and it wont fit his hex shaft?
if so, the times ive pulled a hex prop they went on and off with out any problem.

I'll pass that on to the guy or hope maybe he follows this thread. Regardless if he keeps it and makes it work or I buy it back, I will still need to make sure the next guy can use it. Thanks, BC

Boat doc answered your question over on the other site. The newer shafts are a couple thousandths off the old ones. Just shave down the inside of the prop a lil and slide er on.

Re: How tight should she be???
Sounds like it was one of the older model props for sure. Thanks to everyone for the quick responses. I hate that the new owner has to modify but am relieved it is the right prop. BC
