 1854 Uncle J
I have a 1854 built by Jason and was wondering if there is any thing I can do to get my back of the boat to ride higher. I have a stock 35hp GT and the boat runs 27-28 deep water but when running wide open with myself, 55lbs. lab, and 10 gallon of gas in the front, the sides of the hunt deck is even with the water. I was wondering if I should bend the tab on the bottom or just leave it.

 Re: 1854 Uncle J
I dont know if Im understanding you correctly. But your saying the water is even with the top of the hunt deck when your running wide open at 27 - 28 mph?!
That doesn't sound right... if you were running that fast I dont see how it could be that far up the sides seems like you would be pushing a lot of water. Usually the boat is going to have lift coming out of the water more when riding that fast. Seems like if it were that high on the sides while you were running, when you stopped it would be over the hunt deck?
Isn't this your boat? I pulled it from another thread but looks like the sides are pretty tall on that boat.

Yes, This is my boat and it does have 21" sides. I will take a picture of it running this weekend. I did not know if this for normal for the water to run up the sides of the boat. It does not bother me to much because i am making good speed.

 Re: 1854 Uncle J
I wonder if Uncle J's Huntdecks are just lower than the rest?

 Re: 1854 Uncle J
When your boat is sitting in the water not moving, does the water come over the huntdeck?

 Re: 1854 Uncle J
My reverse worked nice yesterday. Rode up on the bank along the Intracoastal to cut some blind material. First time I had to use it in some mud.
