Post My GD1644 Project (Pictures)
I purchased a 2000 GoDevil 1644 hull and 25hp GD Longtail this year and decided to redo everything on this boat. From wiring, hoses, flotation and paint to a brand new boat blind and trolling motor. It took four months of work, but I got it done.

Here are some pictures of the progress.

Boat as purchased:

Boat prepped up, flotation removed, hoses and wires removed, and 2 coats of Sherwin-Williams KEM-400 that I ordered over the phone from the New Orleans SWCC store:

Camo applied by individually sticking leaves with masking tape (applied on the back of the leaf), and spray painted with Rustoleum Brown spray paint:

Hydroturf goes on, then new seats, gas tank, trolling motor:

Finally the boat blind, that I custom made to bend around the longtail handle. The blind can be easily removed and the straps were not permanently attached to the gunnels:

Chris,
Did you remove the flotation that is located in the side of the boat? If so, was it wet?

The black straps I bought at my local Walmart. It comes with those easy latch plastic clips.

The bimini hardware I purchased from Overton's (Overtons.com). It's 7/8" bimini hardware that requires only a little bit of sanding for a snug fit on the 3/4" EMT conduit.

The hardware used to attach the straps to the gunnel were all bought at my local Lowe's. It's a combination of a 1/4" hose clamp with rubber lining inside, and a zinc-plated metal D-ring. This configuration allows you to remove the blind easily without permanently attaching it to the boat.

The splice in the EMT was done with a thick piece of 3/4" metal tube (about two feet long), drilled while inside the EMT and riveted together. The connection is very solid.

Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with.

Chris
