Who pissed in your cherios? First of all, stupid post. I would say your comment is a tiny bit correct. I've watched guys with other motors screw with em a lot at the boat ramps. Seen a couple clutch covers off at the boat ramp. I think most MMs are solid designs. Reverse is definately awesome. And yeah, a pushpole just aint the same. But I did buy a GD due to a lot less maintenance. I change gas, oil, and plugs. Squeeze a little grease every know and then. And WD 40 here and there. Its nice to know if im staying at my camp alone, its fairly easy to fix $hit. I hit an underwater refrigerator this past summer. I mean hard at WOT. Motor bounced way up, thank God for the floating handle. Actually the only thing go bad was a case gasket. It started leakin a tiny bit of oil. But the GDSD really is built like a tank. Thats what I wanted. An easily maintained tank. But everyone one here seems to always point out that no reverse is a design flaw. So when do airboats get reverse???? Probably wouldn't work. Blow the driver right outta the boat. Now that all these GD posts are starting its kinda funny watching some of the cheerleaders get their pom poms ruffled. Drive what you want. Buy something that fits what you want.

im on my 4th mud motor,not counting my 40 merc,(which i put thru more mud and shit than most clear water sissys on here).owned a 35sd,and it was less maintenance to keep it goin,PERIOD.

anything mechanical can break. thats a no-brainer. but you're not going to have a clutch, trim or reverse go out on a gd. (altho your back may go out from using that damn pole

Maybe this statement will be politically correct enough for you Obama voters. There are less things that can go wrong with a Go-Devil FRAME, that could cause you to get stranded, than a MB, GT or PD frame.

With that said, I think reverse, neutral and trim are very cool feature to have, though I would rarely use it myself and didn't see a reason spending the extra $1300 to have it.
