 pro-drive power trim
my powertrim om pd is very slow and making a growling sound. it makes it going up and down. after a few times it seems the motor gets hot and quits working. after it cools down it will work again w/ the same growling sound. if it is my motor any idea what one would cost? it looks like i may have to remove the motor off the boat to replace it.

 Re: pro-drive power trim
Bad connections can create a lot of extra heat. Check all of em, both ends...

 Re: pro-drive power trim
How old is your power trim? The older ones had problems with moisture getting in the motor and corroding everything. Same symptoms as your describing.

 Re: pro-drive power trim
I doubt it will still be under warranty because the frame is only a 1 year warranty. Call KP though and he will order you a new setup for what it costs them to get it.

 Re: pro-drive power trim
Before you order the motor, I would check your trim switch because mine had moisture problems. Just thought i would give you the heads up to a problem that might happen later and maybe save you some on shipping.
