Post Puppy food
I just bought a black lab female and we are picking her up on the 18th. My question is what is the best food to feed to a pup and is there anything specail I should be giving to my new hunting partner.

Pro Plan all the way, it is for pups all the way to full grown! Been feeding mine that for the past year and her coat has never looked better and she performs better than ever and muscles look great, she is very well filled out.

I use the Blue Buffalo puppy formula for large dogs. Seems to keep mine energetic and in great shape.

My breeder starts her pups on Royal Canine some pricey food... I usually use whatever the breeder is using then slowly fade it out for my brand. I used ProPlan and Science Diet my one dog has a sensitive stomach & allergies so I have bought just about everything out there to see what she likes and can tolerate.

my dad owns a feed store in gonzales, and working there all thru high school taught me alot about dog food.
personally, i think Diamond is the best food made. Also, the first three ingredients in the list make up 90% of whats in that bag, so make sure there are no by-products in those first three. Dont think that just because a food is more expensive its betr, refer to what i just told you and look at the ingredients in Science Diet. That food is crap.

Here is a good site I found to check out some info on dog foods. Pretty interesting.
