are these props actually really good or are we making fun of him? I dunno anything bout these props

I have and use a 9x7 Ron Hill propeller, works well, digs and is tough. As for these surface drive props idk, alot of money to experiment.

Nice design. Big wide blade from the trailing edge to the cup. Short from the hub to the tips to keep RPMs up. Looks like alot of pitch too.

If I'm right, a (1)smaller diameter/more pitch prop will have more speed than a (2)bigger diameter/less pitch prop.
However, low end power will be better for #2. It will take #1 longer to get to the higher RPMs in order to get to high speeds.

I was told to get the highest speed I can in deep water with my motor. Shallow water won't matter as much how the prop is designed, you gonna be slinging mud/grass anyway. Don't know if this is true.

Maybe if he's got a money back garantee. But he does state that you get 3 reworks for the price.

Oh and after reading and lurk on that site, I realized where I heard the name Ron Hill. It was when racing RC boats. He built some of the fastest from other in the RC world. Lots of power with high speeds.

I went with backwaterinc props and I will tell you, you will not find a more down to earth guy. he was great to deal with and he knew what he was talking about. My prop was 159 bucks delivered to my door . you cant beat saving money now days. I have ran gdlt for 6 years and now I am building my own lt motor. The quality of the props are great . If I had 3500 dollars I would be sporting that 27hp long tail he has on his website...

My question would be how does it stack up in the mud.

Well the guy that posted below him wanting one is from Port Neches...which is about 5min from our house, so maybe we will find out soon.

Can't someone please invent a damn system to switch props on the run.. Like 2 wheel drive to 4 with trucks. Seems would be easy...like selectable rotating shafts with props. Or make it easier to switch props on the water. I'm sure someone's already thinking of this. I know sail boat props are colapsable and their pitch can be changed on the fly, and airplane props can, too.

a two speed gearbox would accomplish the same thing right?

Just so yall know, it would take a BEAST of a motor to turn a prop like that! I ran a 13x13 3 blade on my motor and my motor wasnt exactly weak. And at 41 mph and could barely get 4000 rpms.

Ok guys heres my 2 cents on what i saw he did say a mub boat and not a mud motor big diffrence!!! I have been playin with props for my mud boat not mud motor!!!! and i will tell yall that ron hill wheel will kill mud,grass etc... performance but will be real fast it almost looks just like the racing propeller for mercury and yamaha's !!!!! i have a vanguard 35 marine engine in my mud boat and the best propeller i have found for both speed and play is a louisiana mud buster from hopkins propeller!!! i have talk to ***** hopkins many times on the phone and he was all about answerin any ? i had for him!! im turnin a 9x9 with a heavy cup in it and im makin 30 mph!!!! and these are some real strong wheels to!!!!! http://www.hopkinspropeller.com/mudprops/

cause to stay at 15 degree angle on my strut with the room i had in the boat a 9 inch wheel is all that will fit remember this is a mud boat not mud motor (inboard) and im turnin 4000 rpms so its perfect!!!!!

Here in Georgia I dont have alot of mud, its the submerged brush/weeds and logs, and runnin flooded timber that has me runnin a MM.

I been thinkin about a new prop for my 16 gdlt for a bit now already. I dont really need performance in the mud!

I seen Ron Hill post the 9x7 surface prop on Ebay with the same advertisement as Chops had, so I am betting those some Ron Hill blades he is turning.

Man Id really like to know the turnout of someone running one these. Id love to have one for the summertime!
