Phowler Boats Restoration/Bowfishing Retrofit

muddoctor MMT Sponsor Joined: Thu Jan 22, 2009 8:38 am Posts: 649	Phowler Boats Restoration/Bowfishing Retrofit Phowler Restoration - Basket Case to Bowfishing Rig by pwhnts5 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 8:15 am A customer brought us this $800 basket case boat to restore and convert into a bowfishing rig. The motor ran (70hp Merc) but the boat was trashed, front decks had been removed and every rib was cracked and leaking badly. We repaired all the leaks, sealed everything, rebuilt front decks, lids, transom and built a removable bowfishing deck. Found this boat for $800 and stuck a couple thousand into it and ended up with a pretty nice boat in the end. If it was not fixable we would have told him not to waste his $, but it was salvagable, just needed alot of work. We do these kind of restorations regularly for guys. We figure we have all the metal, equipment and paint shop here, might as well do some extra work and keep guys busy. PW _________________ Paul V. What kind of paint is that you sprayed. It looks like a hammer tone finish powder coat? PS: Like gigafowl metioned, I'd like to see more this old boat posts as well!
