 Rewiring GD Boat
Old GD boat wiring is getting brittle. I had to make a couple splices during last season and would like to replace the wiring. What gauge wiring do I need and how much? Any advice on this job?

 Re: Rewiring GD Boat
Depends on the runs/where your battery is/what you run in the boat. 100W spots draw 8.3Amps, bilge pump- 2-4, running lights 1-2. If you control high amp stuff from a switch in the back, you may want to look at installing a relay.
Cover your connections with liquid electrical tape, if you add a piece of shrinkwrap over it you get a clean looking connection.
Check Mudd's site for spot wiring, may give you some ideas:

 Re: Rewiring GD Boat
Thanks for all the info. I don't have much accessories. I use a hand held spot light or hard hat light. So all I really have are the running lights.
