It is a pump that runs off of the vacuum from the intake on diesel motors
It will move an azz of water fast. It is to be used in emergency situations
all you have to do is open a valve and water is pumped out.
I had a buddy with a 40’ post and seal went out on shaft
180 mile offshore emergency bilge alarm going off is not a good thing.
There was about a foot of water in the hull and the crash pump had it dry in about a minute.
Don’t know how this would be done on a MM .

i never heard of a vaccum pump on the intake of a diesel motor unless it is an old non turbo. If it is turbo when RPM goes up you build boost pressure.

You are the only idiot who has a wooden boat. No one else needs to worry about bugs eating their boat.

Post Crash pump
Maybe I used the wrong term. I thought it referred to any extra high capacity pump, pto, electric, or with it's own power source used for emergency pump out. However, I agree that most are pto from the main engines.

Since I don't think that would be practical on a mud motor either, mine will be a Rule 4000 w/2" discharge, wired directly to the battery on it's own circuit with it's own fuse. May sound a bit excessive, unless you've ever swamped (or nearly swamped) a boat in open water.

Why not?

If you run in timber you can bang around the trees better.

Its also easier to pull into a duckblind, they look good too.

Slam into a tree goin 20 mph and report back with us....

It deflects off trees and seperates tall grass and brush better.

I really don't think you will have a problem with a pointed bow and froggin.. It depends on how exagerated the point is too.

Easy- If one battery dies you always have a back up. I hunt by myself a lot, mostly in the middle of no where- so I like having back ups! I am assuming with the new CDI models draining the battery is not as much of a problem as it is with the older models. But putting around looking for spots while hunting, picking up decoys, running all of my accessories, GPS, Lights, Spotlight etc. I use to drain my battery quickly.

The dual bilge pumps- probably over kill- but if you are going down in the middle of nowhere...probably worth the little extra.

Well I always carry a extra barry on board just in case I run into a problem.
Im thinking about putting my battery in the front the boat but I always heard that it isn't the best thing to do?

SP has the right idea. Look at the size of the hole in your drain plug. Now look at the discharge hole in the bilge pump. If the hole in the pump is smaller than the hole in the boat, you ain't got a big enough pump!!!

My 1750 pump has saved my ass TWICE! Drain plug fell out one time, got knocked out by ice the second time. The big pump will stay up with one drain plug out. Won't bail it out, but won't let it sink ether. 16 x 36 can't take a whole lot of water. :o

Just sayin'
