Post Re: MarshMonster boats
I am a PROUD owner of a marshmonster boat and have NOT had a any problems with my boat. I could have got ANY boat on the market and weighed all the pros and cons and couldn't find any boat the matched what the marshmonster had.
I'm sure there were a lot of people that gave Forrest Wood crap for the way he made his boats back in the day, but we all know how that worked out.
If you have a marshmonster and have had a problem with it, then call Scott or Todd and get it taken care of, but don't turn this into a "my dad is tougher than your dad" thing.
Don't knock it untill you try it ! ! !

Its just common sense, all those cross braces on the bottom will cause a bunch of hooks in the boat.

If its good where you run then great, but that thing wouldn't make it one good year on the lakes around here.

That kinda goes both ways as far as "that boat wouldn't last one year around here". We need big, wide, heavy duty boats for all of the hazzards that the north has to offer. One big thing that we have that you don't is ice. Now, don't get me wrong you have ice, but ours is pretty much industrial strength. The hunting around here heats up for mallards when we have to break 3+ inches of ice........industrial strenght ice.
Every boat serves a purpose when certain conditions apply, and for me, the marshmonster serves its purpose and then some. I am curious though when you said that this boat wouldn't last a year down there.........why not ? ? ?

Because of the way the boat is braced... Stumps will catch on the cross bracing and make big indentations on the bottom of the boat. Make it look like a washboard and kill performance. With long runners you may develop tunnels, but the loss in performance is not nearly as bad.

Post Re: MarshMonster boats
Just read through the posts here. Wow hard to believe people are judging a boat by a picture. I personally have been in one of these boats and they hold their own. It will be my next duck boat. Up north we have to have deep and wide boats for the lakes and rivers and these boats work excellent. They are a very sturdy and stable boat. The customer service you receive from this company as well is 2nd to none. I would recommend a MarshMonster boat to anyone I know along with a MarshMonster mud motor.

To each his own I guess. Just as you guys wouldn't use this boat where you hunt, I wouldn't want to hunt out of yours up here. Way too narrow and shallow for our type of hunting. We have stumps, ice, rocks, logs, etc they must be harder in the south than they are up here in the north. As far as the craftsmanship, I really don't think you find a better built boat. It's a tank without the treads and I have absolutely NO regrets with my decision in going with the marshmonster.

Probably gonna be a very nice hull. Ya'll can't help it you are behind on the learning curve on bracing. Honestly that type of hull would work great for the majority of owners and last a lifetime. Not everyone uses their boat as a motocross bulldozer.........
