 Re: Lower seal replacement???
With the 2 allen heads bolts out, hit the gear with a either a rubber mallet or use a block of wood with a hammer. The gear should fall off of the cone toward the seal, allowing you to remove the cone from the shaft, followed by the gear.

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
Thanks Camo. Got The gear off but it seems like the key was rusted on the taper lock and the shaft and when i went to slowy open it up to remove it. It cracked I eventully had to just split it in half and even after that the one half was completly stuck on the shaft with the key way. i finally got iy off removed the spacer and set spring and got to the seal. Guess I'll have more parts on the way now. LOl

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
Look on the bright side, ya broke yours now instead of when ya went to reassemble it, like I did. I did find out that 2 things from it, (1) the part isn't expensive, (2) you can actually still use it with it broken in 2 pieces.

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
Man, it's been awhile since I've done one, but seems like the seal is behind a snap ring. Gear goes on 1st, then cone & keyway together.

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
I got the snap ring out and the seal. So I put the gear on the shaft first then slid the cone on and just use the 2 allen screws to tighten it all toghether right. Thanks again for the help.

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
I'm assuming you've got the keyway in there also, so yeah that's it.

 Re: Lower seal replacement???
so apperntly i didnt get the seal out . i tried to press it out with just keeping the grease plug in and forcing it out but the seal is to blown. what i thought was the seal was just part of the rubber from the actual seal. so now whats the best and easiest way to get that out . i would like to not have to pull the whole shaft. let me know what ya thinkl
