No Troy last night but ole Trapper Joe was break dancing on da flo at da volunteer fire station :o
Thought he was about to do the windmill

Always thought he was a cool cat but I think after he saw himself rollin' on the floor on national tv, he might be thinking about not doing that again

my paran henry gator hunts by himself all season, and hes been doing it all his life, so its not unusual for people to do that in pierre part. although it is dangerous. And also troy doesnt live far from me. hes a good friend of the family, hes a real good dude.

Had a surprise today while visiting my t-shirt guy. After we finished shootin the breeze we walk out to find T-Mike from Swamp People waiting in front. Seems they are making an appearance at the Basin Festival in Henderson.

He was pretty cool, shorter than I thought. Said he's been more busy doin' show related stuff than the gator farm.

Not sure if any of yall listened to Don Debuic on 870AM this morning, but he had Mike Kliebert on there talking about the show. He said the Saints are inviting T-Mike to bring an alligator on the field during pre-game. Its truely amazing that one day hardly anyone knows ya and the next your getting paid to make appearances at places. At least I can honestly say that it hasnt changed Mike. He made the statement this morning that he is sticking to his roots.

i loved watching the show. the only thing i didn't like is how they wrestle with the gators and take crazy as* shots up close. I have never in my 5 years gator hunting had a gator roll before i shot it in the head. I know it makes it look good for TV but it makes us other gator hunters look bad.

ooo, i thought it would be a deadliest catch thing where at the end of the season they say how much the deckhands make from fishing...its funny up here, when people see me on the water with my boat and motor they always say 'oh yeah, like those swamp people on that show'....never seen one before

Post Re: Swamp People Series
I just saw it for the first time this weekend. They have to work pretty hard to make shooting gators from a good size lake skiff look dangerous. I had 10 tags one year and had 96' foot of hide one went 13 stretched. His Nose to eyes were almost 18 " He was a hand full but 8' and 9' footer were no touble at all. Dirty nasty work , dangerous only if you got stupid.

One time I got the idea to kill one with a knife ,we were out in a 14' 2 man rodrigue mudboat no freeboard at all. I pulled a 9 footer up to the boat , grabbed it by the mouth and pulled his head up on the gunnel and stuck my cold steel trailmaster into the sweet spot. The SOB got his tail into the mud and tried to climb in my lap. I just hung on to his mouth so he could not open it and went back to work with the knife. He must have pushed the boat 5 foot to the side. I finished him just as he got one leg over the gunnel. If we had been in deep water he would have sunk us. As we were towing him out I saw a another 9 footer come out the water and take the bait almost 3 feet up. I got to thinking that my hand was no higher off the water when I pulled that gators head up to grab his snout with my other hand.

That may have been one of the top 5 dumbest thing I have ever tried.

A funny story about a real swamp man

Going back 25 or 30 years A buddy of mine was one of the first gator nusiance guys. He got a call to go pick up a 5 footer at west jeff hospital. When he got there a cop had this little 5 footer with his mouth tied shut , It had just bitten a hooker on her snatch. (She was useing this gator has part of her show). The cop asked Art why he thought the gator bit her, Art replied " It most likely was hungery and that was the only thing around that smelled fishy"

Now for the funny part!

Art takes the dam thing home and throws it in his bath tub. During the night the gator got free of his wraps.

Using only the night light, Art walks in to take a leak . Just as Art got to peeing good the gator grabed his pj's by the leg and started shaking. Art was a least 340 lbs , and 50 years old in a very small bath room and there was no way he could stop peeing, and not much room to work. He pissed all over everything before he was able to get the gator under control. It took a hour to get those walls clean according to his wife. Old Arthur died a couple years ago, He was one of a kind, and has been truely missed.

Daughter just ate alligator and crawfish from the History Channel's Swamp People bus in Times square. John Folse was the celebrity chef. She sent photo. I'll try to post.
