 Oh Brother, Where art thou?
There are 2 mysterious custom rigs that I keep catching blips of info on but havent seen any reviews or pictures to judge by.
1) Aucoin
2) Brother Breaux
I am in the market for a 1754ish sized rig with high transom, open floor, pointed bow, tapered chine. I am leaning towards a 1754 GTB but want to know more about these rigs before I decide. My distance from LA makes going to put my hands on all of them pretty tough. So I am looking for any pictures or info you have that could show me what these guys do that sets them apart. I would also like to hear about your boats, what you like, dislike, approx costs, etc.
"show them to me". (Coastal, feel free to add more calendar shoot pics if you like.)

Re: Oh Brother, Where art thou?
I dont have a review on this forum, but i do on the other.....
What everyone said is correct, the work is excellent and the attention to detail is... well you cant match it.
Either way you will like the rig.

Re: Oh Brother, Where art thou?
If you go with either one of these builders, you get numbers that are atleast as good as a comparable size from a big manufacturer.... and their boats are really nice to look at. They both do an excellent job in my opinion!

Re: Oh Brother, Where art thou?
My 2054 Breaux Bateau should be done next week. I will post an extensive review once I've had some time to test it out!
The one piece hull, quality of welds, bracing and the flare he puts on the sides really sold me. Ricky builds a great boat as well. You can't go wrong with either one.

Re: Oh Brother, Where art thou?
I bit the bullet and order my new hull today.
It is an 1854 Aucoin, pointed bow, 3/16" bottom, smooth floor w/ gutters (no dang anklebreakers), short deck w/ a hatch and an extension and a deck drain, one seat pod, grab handle, trolling motor plate, two standard drain plugs and fully rigged out.
I picked up a nice trailer last week and an 08' 35 GTR w/ 17 hours today. I've got my natgear hydroturf on order and now I just got to decide about the paint job. Made my mind up on natgear but I aint decided if I want to get a base coat from Ricky's guy and add the pattern myself or just pay Camo-designs to do the whole thing from bare metal up. I think I just want the outside and the motor done since Im gonna hydroturf the inside anyway.
