 MB 18 ????
Guys where I hunt, fish, joy ride, and bowfish at its really no mudd at all just vegataion and stump feilds. Right now I got a 1540 with a 13hp GDLT. I'm wanting to gain more speed and easyer handling motor would I be any better going with a 18hp Mudd Buddy surface drive or would I be just pissing in the wind?
I haven't been around many SF drives at all and pretty new to the whole mudd motor game.

 Re: MB 18 ????
The 18 mudbuddy mini can turn an 11x10 prop; their factory 10x8 prop not a good performer. I had an 18 mini, ran fine, even idles good , i swapped 18 for a 24 honda(no special reason, just because i had the honda)

 Re: MB 18 ????
If your gunna go with the 18, go ahead and buy a 23... the weight is almost identical bein as they are the same block.

 Re: MB 18 ????
I agree with going with the 23 instead of the 18, weight is the same. The Mudbuddy mini has the neutral clutch option. Only thing i can say is the mini frame is tough and very durable, mines has no clutch, so not much maintenance. I put a 24 on the lower gear ratio of the 18 and turn a 12x12 2 blade godevil sd prop, runs pretty good.
