 Spud pole receiver ideas
I was using an adaptation of a 2" rod holder as a receiver for my boat spud poles. The idea worked but the aluminum is too flexible and bends too easily. Most aluminum mud boats have these receivers integrated into the hull itself, which is not an option for my wooden boat. Any of you have good alternative ideas to share?

One of our sponsors - Daley's has some nifty 1/2" poly spuds with a nice T handle at the top and screw mountable adjustable recievers that they slide into.....
Saw about 3 variations of them when I went by there Saturday to look around for the first time....

Saw those at the Gonzales outdoor show couple months ago....very good!!
The recycled transom trolling motor bracket idea is excellent, too.

 Re: Spud pole receiver ideas
Don't know if you saw the mount I have for the big umbrella or not. Take a 4"-5" piece of 1-1/2" alum angle & a 3" piece of 1-1/2" or 2" alum pipe & have em welded together so that you can bolt or screw the angle to your transom or gunwale & the pipe will be verticle. The one I'm using for the umbrella used to be mounted on the transom of my GD hull. Cheap & effective.
