Me and a bunch of da fellars will be there. Hopefully my new F4 will be here b4 then. If not ill be tagging along. I'm just ready for the stripper pole on the tracker(I think, 2 many beers that day) and my group will be stayin in santee. It's about 20 min from packs, great night-life, if u like booby bungalows lol!

We stay at the lake marion inn. It's like 30 bucks a nite and they have a set of rooms to the side for ppl with boats. It ain't no holiday inn but its a great place to crash with a drunken stupor haha. And one of my buds is bringing a video camera. He said its bullchit they didn't do a hottie bud last year and considering its the 10th year of it I'm sure its gona be a blast

how far out of the way is summerton if I were to stay there?

Summerton is likely as close or closer since Santee is on the opposite side of the lake. Either is just a hop and a skip though. And for those that don't partake, there is always a bunch of boats that meet up on Sunday in the Cooper River to run the mud and grass. Locally referred to as "The day after in the river" for obvious purposes. The landing is between Moncks Corner and Goose Creek, roughly an hour's drive from Santee. Most put in at Cypress Gardens on Durham Creek and head to the river. It isn't but a 5 or 10 minute run and you will see all the boats in the mud, generally in the trussel ricefield (aka "the boot") on the left when heading out of the creek. Tides are expected to be pretty low around 2 pm local time this year, so should be a great time!

To check tides, the tidal station Old Rice Mill at http://www.saltwatertides.com/dynamic.d ... sites.html is a good predictor.

I kno quite a few ppl camp out in the camping areas and party pretty good but I'm not 100% never camped out there. Of the towns around packs santee or sumter will be your best bet. Like I posted b4, we stay in santee and have a pretty jam up time. Good number of bars and other entertainment

I'll be at the Duck Run and on the Cooper River that Sunday.

Santee state park has camping spots available, also a lot of folks will camp out on the islands. Most of the best sites will be taken early though. For those of you unfamiliar with the Cooper River, there probably will be scuba divers out in the river channel. Their boats will be anchored and flying the red diver down flag. They can pop up a good ways from the boat though. They won't be over near banks/dikes or out in the rice fields, too many gators.

When is the run ?

it is june 11, and the cooper river run is june 12. registration starts at 7 and first boat leaves at 9

I'm have my hands on a 2010 Go Devil Surface Drive 27 hp Kohler eng still in the crate it never has been Titled a friend of mine won it last year at the SC Waterfowl Acution I can buy it for a very good price and I'm looking at buying a boat out of La have my eyes on one. I'm new at this and don't know anyone who does all this looking to make some friends who do this. I'm in Charleston.

17 days and counting. New Excel should(if all works out hopefully!) Be here next week. Just enough time to get it rigged and run some tests. All yall goin to cooper river the following day be on the lookout for me. Might need some help pulling that heavy a$$ boat out the mud! Haha

Just a hair over a week and got some great news. My new F4 will be here tuesday. Was beginning to make plans to ride with some other fellars but got the call on the boat. Very excited bout finally hanging my mb on the back. Hope to see some of yall fellars down there. I'll be in the spank new Excel with no letters cuz I wont have time to make it to dnr office haha

i would register asap online for your letters. Carry the print off receipt. DNR is in full force at this thing, and not having any registration is one more reason for them to yank you and give you a hard time. Esp after the run...green jeans will be waiting by the tressle and packs writing tickets and giving breathalizers

A DD is always a great idea. They weren't terrible on people last year. But I did get stopped just after getting past the tressle. Asked for floatation covering all members of the boat, and my throwable. Then they moved onto the next person. As long as you aren't showing your a$s, and have your basic safety stuff on board, you should be fine. make sure you run out and get life vests, throwable, whistle, fire entinguisher, etc before the run. I know I almost forgot that stuff with my new boat last year, and boy im glad i didn't.

O yea. I've got all that sitting in my utility room just waiting to throw it in the boat. Hope to see u down there marsh chicken. I'm sure Ull be easy to spot cuz I'm sure there ain't 2 many gator-tails in SC lol

2 1/2 more days..... Planning on being there around 8:00AM....anyone see any problem with that? Since this is our first year....what does one need to expect about the swamp, activities, etc. I have seen the vids and while everyone likes looking at half naked chicks, they don't show much on the drawings, etc.

8am should be just fine. the boat ramp will be crowded so be sure to have your boat ready to drop in the water when its your turn to put in at the ramp. The run should last till about 2 or 3pm if i remember correctly. station 5 is always a big party. then people usually start to head out for the drawing of prizes at packs at around 2 or 2:30pm. Word to the wise...green jeans is out in force at this event. They are lenient on people drinking and know that most people are having a few cold ones. Make sure you have all your safety stuff, bc you have a good chance of being stopped. Don't show your ass, and they prob wont give you a hard time. ie. idle in no wake zones, don't fire hose spray other boats with your prop, ...common sense type sh!t. bring cash to buy poker hands and t-shirts. packs will have gas available if you need it. see ya there saturday!
