Got my Dad am07 Mudbuddy HD Sport with mods and it came with an extra Tiger Prop and I picked up a used 09 Gator-Tail with mods Both motors are badass by the way, so do they both use the exact same props, and do the props mount on the same way??

If they are both hex shafts then yes you can swap them around and they mount the same way.

mb will fit gt but gt will not fit mb!!

partly true DDM, they used to not be interchangeable but now they are. Andy told me this.

I personally tried to put a GT prop from a 2010 GT on a 2010 MB last week and it would NOT fit!

Yes the props mount the same way (occasionally you may need to do some light filing), but in no way are they they same prop. The MB one is thicker and slightly larger pitch. So rpm's and speed will be different with each wheel, because each motor is geared differently to swing the propeller that each manufacturer makes.

Just curious, I was told one time that the GT shaft was metric, while the MB is standard. If that's true, then it would seem that #1 would fit on #2, but not vice versa, and also #1 would fit a lil sloppy on #2.


Again, never tried it, only repeating what I'd heard once before.

Measure the shaft and it will tell ya!

To put aother question on the table. I want a 3 blate prop for my GTR to hunt a refuge on occasions. i have heard MB sales a 3 blade. IF they fit the GTR what would i have to do to run on on my 23 hp GTR? Being its a smaller motor compared to the 35GTR. Also it the 3 blade under 9 inchs in diameter?

You've gotta have a 3 blade to run a refuge?

TC you heard af anything to get by the regulations so people can run their boats out in the refuge? Like any props that will be 9 inches or less?

MB is offering a 9" Refuge Special prop, I believe. When I was still working there, a guy came in & was given one to try out. He said it did ok, but lost a lil on the top end. Surprised GT doesn't also offer one.

I have a refuge special prop. Especially honed down after 10 mos of running in West Bay... It's a ninja prop now was once a 11P 12" diameter now something like 9.5" lol

I really want to keep one for the normal places i hunt around my area and just have a 9 incher so i can access the refuge when i need too which is only 5 to 10 times a year to hunt.

Hill Marine sells a 9 inch hex prop for this application. I believe it is the same one Chops was advertising.
