What do you do with old PROPS that are worn?
I have two props from my 25 GD LT that have wore about 2 inches off of them. Is there anything that you guys do with them other then scrap them? That is the only thing I can think of other than trying to sell them to someone that has a smaller motor that needs a smaller prop? Is there anyone out there that will credit them towards a new prop purchase? Thanks for the help.

Most will send them off to be re-built. I think it costs about half the price of a new one to have it re-built.
Go Devils site has a cost calculation for rebuilding a prop.
I don't know the names, but there are a few prop shops that have been talked about on here.

Baumann Marine here in Houston will add back in diameter & re-balance for you... They have seen a stock Gator-Tail blade & also do work on Go-Devil & MB props. You MUST specifiy what your wanting. They are about $60+ for welding & $40 for labor etc

My In laws good friend works for mercury in Fon DuLac Wi. and does all their prop work so I just send him mine and he does it for pretty cheap. I have been impressed at how well they hold up might not be like brand new but sure is alot cheaper. I run through about 3-4 in a year so It makes it nice to have somone do that.... SAND IS THE DEVIL

There is a go devil dealer in houston called north shore marine. When I bought my boat there they told me that they have someone that they send it to that will weld new blades to it and make it like new.

Now how well do these Re-worked props last? I am certain they wont last as long the stock material.

Re: What do you do with old PROPS that are worn?
I'm not sure how long it will last.. I will tell ya this I put my reworked one next to a brand new one and can't tell the difference. I guess if it even last half as long its still cheaper then always buying new ones. I have had my reworked one on the boat for about a week now and still in great shape after runnon it hard the last 3 nights..
