 mb manual quick trim
Can anyone describe to me how this functions. I read what the Mb site says, but I want to know how it does what it does. Anyone have any pics up close of the rod(mechanism) that is the quick trim

 Re: mb manual quick trim
I delivered 2 Hunter models to people that came in last week, and a Mini just left out of here about a hour ago, so sorry, but I dont have any to take a pic of, but here's my best description:
1) there is a about a 16" long threaded shaft that has a hand knob at the end of it (the end that faces you), that you simply screw in/out to set the proper trim angle of the motor for the running position (in water). And as the infomercial says "set it and forget it," because once you set the motor to run at the proper angle it will pretty much stay there.
2) The other end of that threaded rod come in contact with a stainless steel block. That block is mounted to a bracket that slides from side to side. When you get stuck in the mud or veggies, you simply push down on the tiller handle to take the weight off of the slide bracket, pull the slide bracket to the side (which slides that SS block out of the way of the threaded shaft) and the motor will drop all the way down to get the prop to get the prop as far down in the mud as possible so that you can dig out.
3) When you get back to water again, push down on the tiller handle, push the slide bracket back into position, and it will be back at the proper trim attitude.

 Re: mb manual quick trim
Did some digging & found a few pics of Hunter & Mini Lite models.
Here's the trim lever from a Hunter in the normal position. MB Hunter trim2.jpg
Here it is in the "dig deep" position. MB Hunter trim.jpg
This is a Mini Lite side view, you can see the easy grip knob with the black rubber grip on it. Mini-Side-Trans-300.gif

Better view of the easy trim knob. motor 3.JPG
The Mini lite frame has the same basic design as the Hunter, but smaller components. You can see the small stainless tab for the quick trim. It pulls out like the black one on the Hunter model in the above pove. motor 4.JPG

 Re: mb manual quick trim
Thanks alot guys. I really appreciate the help. I'm actually not looking to buy a sd. I just built my own using a Honda 20hp. Just couldn't figure out how I was going to do the trim. I think I got it figured out now.

 Re: mb manual quick trim
Good discription Andy of how it works... other than Setting it and leaving it... it is very easy to adjust my Hunter 35 when WOT... you just push down on the handle and twist the knob... its very easy and helps with fine tuning RPM's... I have had the other trim types and this one seems to be Bullet Proof and the outdrive balances so much better on transome... But I'm sure the Merc does also from what I have heard...
