Can't get a grip on it with pliers to pull it out the prop and you can't punch it from the other side. Any one found anything that works. Fixing to cut it.

Ronnie, not sure if you are going to a new prop, but a new prop should have come with a new bushing.

I bought Willets prop and it has a bushing. But its wedged in the prop and there is not enough lip sticking out for me to get a grip on it. I have a spare bushing so I'm not concerned about cutting it out. Just wondering if anyone has been successfully using any other method.

The easiest.

Oven mits or leather welding gloves will be required!!!!

Put the prop in the oven pre heat it to 450 or more. when the oven beeps ( reached temp) take it out . have a ice cold wet rag waiting, wrap it around a screw driver in a cone shape and shove it into the bushing then turn the prop over it should fall right out if not then give it a little tap. Or use the screw driver and the bushing slot to spin it out.

Second easiest

Drill two 1/8 or 3/16 holes on each side the slot on the bushing 1/2 inch deep. Insert a couple bolts or screws into the holes and squeeze them together with a pair of pliers.

Thanks but I just used my Dremel and a cutter bit. Only took a couple minutes. Routed down one side close to cutting through and then gave it a good whack with a hammer and screwdriver. It allowed the gap to close and it broke loose.

Tapered bushings are da devil..... My toyota uses them things for the locking hubs to wheel hub bolts to keep everything centered. BB posted what I was going to suggest about drving a screwdriver into the Slit of the bushing then working it out from there, But it seems your method worked ALOT better!

you can tap a few theads in it start a bolt then punch it out from the other side

i have never done this but here pretty soon i might have to. Would it be possible to punch it out using a socket or something of that nature to apply even pressure all the way around?

Should have just put the prop on......it would ahve been a good way to keep your RMP's down

Update on the PD bushing removal from prop. After cutting one out with the demel I gave it a little deeper thought. Went with Prestons idea and finally got around to trying it. I drilled 2 - 5/32" holes, one on each side of the slot in the bushing. Using needle nose pliers stuck into the holes apply enough pressure to pinch the bushing and pull it out. Worked like a charm and should not have any effect on the bushing. Only drillled about 1/4" deep. Used like retainer ring pliers. The set I have didnt look like they had enough azz so I used the needle nose.
