Just curious I see they have it as an option listed on their website, the pointed bow but I dont see many pic's of their boats with it. Seems more people prefer the flat front, why is this? Seems the pointed bow would be good especially considering its still flat on the bottom if you had to jump something.

Poooo ran it today!!! Deep water. Me and the wife, ice chest of beer and 6 gal of gas. Consistent 29mph. Took her out and no change really. I'll get shallow water speeds tommorrow. I'm curious what the idle speed should be. Mine is around 2000rpm and when u engage clutch.....shit takes place! Idles in gear in water around 1000rpm..

Set it around 1200...

Over all I'm happy!! I found a few loose bolts on the breather pan, no big deal.... Just fells Iike it ideling fast! Oh and it eats salt grass and rossas'

3900ish seems to be the sweet spot wot... Can trim up to over 4g's but no speed increase..

Loan was approved today!! Placed my order for my 1846 with the drop deck, and thanks bayoubandit, you pretty much made me add the receiver hitch! But I think it will be worth it! Keep updating us on the speeds and overall performance!

congrats on the new rig. i ordered my 1846, drop deck, removable gun box and 35 gtr w/ reverse plate, about 3 weeks ago and just got the news that its built and painted. so hopefully i can pick mine up this comming week. this will be my 3rd surface drive setup, had 2 mud buddys, one on a gator trax and one on a skiff. i did my research this time and just went for what i think is the best. GTR BABY!!!!!!

JL good choice, you won't be disappointed, having reverse is a huge addition in itself. I have been having mine for about almost 4 years now and have messed with them inside and out, i will always have a GTR, I like the drive and the performance. When you get ready to beef it up a little give us a call, won't be no problem to walk you through some of the different modifications that can add power where ever you need it whether it be on the top end or deep down torque.
