I have a new boat. What's the best motor for it and what kind of speeds can I expect? Not sure about length, load, or where I'll run it, but I want it to go at least 50. My budget is $2587.

The best motor out there without a doubt is a prodrive. The only things they could do to make them better would be use a horizontal engine, swap the gears for a belt, stretch the out drive a bit, add a floating handle, and throw in instant reverse. Oh wait...
