Drivers seat ? For pd owners
I'm getting my gd converted to a tall transom for a pd. If you have a seat/box installed... Could someone give the the measurement from the transom to the rear of the drivers box? Also the dimensions and height would be cool if possible. I've cut out the float pods in the back and I need a place to sit now. I'm just trying to get this info so when I get the transom raised I can get the box done at the same time. Thanks

If nobody has posted them by the time I get home, I'll post up what I sent Garrett when he built ours. I took the measurements off my PD boat and he built them the same size and put em in the same location.

Re: Drivers seat ? For pd owners
Thanks Clay. I'm just not in the position to be putting the motor on, pulling it off...etc. I'd like to do the work at the same time plus I'm repainting my hull and want to get it all finished before hanging the motor. Btw what transom height does the pd favor?

The Prodrive size box will be huge in that narrow boat of yours Med, I'll go measure mine in a minute.

Thanks Owen. I thought about just doing a seat with a movable base but since I cut out the rear flotation boxes the gutters are exposed in the rear. So I would end up having to be in the center to stay out of the gutters and I'm not too crazy about that setup.

That'll work. Appreciate it man. Looks like I'll have to redo my grab bar as well. Motor better be worth all this trouble.

Re: Drivers seat ? For pd owners
Mine is 16" from the transom but Id go at least 20-22" next time. I have a long reach. And I would go for a more narrow box that doesnt stick out into the boat as much as mine does either. It doesnt hit anything but its tight at times for me. A smaller person may be just fine. Owens box is about right but Id probably go 24" long.

Yeah, my box is a lot bigger than the ones I've seen in most of the Brother boats. Owen is probably right that it'd be a little big in a 44 wide.

Med, if you have the flotation box, this works great. Just get a base from hillside castings, a seat post from bass pro, cut it down a bit, and put a seat on it. I figure you got the box since u got the same boat.

I have a 17x54 PD hull, the box is 24.5 " from the outside of the transom at the top. It is 14.5 " wide and 13.25 " tall. The bottom is 17.5 " which 7.5" from the center line of the boat.
