Will the foam ever give up the water or will it just hold it. Do I need to remove it in order to get rid of the water. Or can I put a dehumidifier in the boat and seal it in plastic and get the water out. Thanks. Its a 2005 xpress and I went to add a hatch up front to move the battery up there and it was wet. Buying a new hull is out of the question so I am just wondering.

Remove water logged foam and put closed cell foam if you want flotation.

I was afraid of that I dont think I can get the foam under the floor out without completely dissasembling the boat gun boxes and all.

hay sometimes u have to do what u half to do!! its alot of work but u got to do it for it to perform well for u aging

I cut my bow open and removed the foam. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't that hard. The biggest problem that I found was getting my big azz into the holes that I had cut. Just get a good razor knife, start cutting chunks out of the foam. Then pull really hard. It worked for me.

Yes its a pain in the arse. Im in the process of replacing mine right now. like said above get a good razor blade and start cutting it comes out pretty easy. just make sure you bet fuel resistant foam. its about 75 buck a sheet. what is this cell foam mentioned above?

I just plan on runnin her. They dont put foam in the commercial hulls, so what the heck. My biggest concern is under the floor. I will definetly get it all out from under the front elevated portion but I don't think I can get it out from under the floor. I wonder if gasoline will disolve the foam enough to get it to run out the back of the boat.

never done it but sawz all works best for cuttin any kind of foam...have used a electric filet knife for cuttin small closed cell foam before and works pretty well but sawz all would be more powerful

I been at her with sawzall I just think the heaviest stuff will be under the floor and I cant remove that.

Gasoline dissolves foam, but I ain't suggestin' nuthin'.

How is the floor held down? I had to constantly tighten screws to keep the floor down in the Xpress I used to have. If it's riveted, drill the bastards out, remove wet foam, rerivet floor.

Its rivited but the gun box and side seats in the back are welded down on top. Gasoline huh? I suggested that to the wife and she said I am fin nuts and I better not burn the house down!!!!

lol id drill da rivets and cut da welds off of ya gun box its alum. and can be welded back on... i luv metal

i cut the foam out from under the floor in my godevil boat. just drill the rivits pop the front and back aluminum up pull the 6-8 pieces of foam out and re revit. nothing to it took about 2hrs max. and she did lose ALOT of weight i bet hundreds of lbs.

Picked up my new foam today and plan on putting it in this weekend. Not sure if gasoline will work. the foam is suppose to be gas resistant. pretty easy to cut out. while the foam is out i ran not battery lines to move the batteries to the front. I will try and take some pictures.
