Grumman 1542 for a mud boat...
Has anyone heard of this boats? Its a 1993 model I've been trying to find out some specs on it any have been able to dig up nothing. I realize it's not a "true mud boat" but I don't have the money for one of those right now just something to beat up for a couple of seasons till I graduate. How to you think it would do with a 23 GD SD? here is a pic. The guy is asking $800 for it and the trailer. My budget gives me about 1,750 or so that I can spend on a boat if you know of a better one. A little paint and I could hunt it. The dimensions are obviously 15' long and 42" at the bottom but 63" at the top. The only thing that scares me is I do hunt a cyprus swamp every now and then that is pretty stumpy. What do you guy's think? Trailer is 16' and galvanized so I might be able to salvage it after I put this boat through hell.
here is a pic. of said boat.

I'd buy it and run it. Then save up for sumthin bigger. if thats what you want. True mudhulls werent always available and people put mudmotors on all sorts of shiit.

i actually think your selling yourself short.. i used to run a 31gdlt on a 14x48 and it dident seem to have half the capabilaty of my mudhull. the 14ft would suction like hell, wouldent slide, dents easy.. i ran it for years with no structal problems but it just beat the hell outta me and had poor performance. your call
