Post Stock carb What is this?
I'm new to these big block v twins... but Engine seemed to be running rich... just by the smell. Damm thing was buning my eyes. Took off the cover and noticed these two screws, dials??? There is one on each side just wondering if these are the mixture screws for each cylinder? and how I can adjust them. For instance if i screw them in is that leaner?

Idle mixture screws IIRC. them black caps can be broken off to get more adjustment out them.

The inboard screw(one closest to the motor and behind the throttle plate) is usually the idle mix screw. The outboard screw (one closest to the air cleaner side of the carb) is usually the "High" mix screw and is used to adjust the mix between 1/4 and WOT.

So, THEORETICALLY.... You would screw them Out/left to lean them out (giving more air). This meaning the pointers on the caps would be facing the opposite direction from one another.

Leave the caps on, just cut the limit arms off the cap. Normally stock they are set about 1.5 turns out and then limited within that range.
