Post Any of you boys hunt from a marsh/layout boat?
I'm looking for a little boat to hunt some of the beaver ponds, backwaters, and sloughs. What kind have y'all used and how do y'all like em or hate em? The three main ones I've heard about are 4 rivers, fat boy dp, and aquapod.

Fatboy DP here. Love it! Roomy, stable, comfortable. PM if you have any specific questions.

Fatboy seems to be pretty popular. How's the marshrat handle? I can't find the website for them anymore.

Looks good man. Honestly the final attack shape is the strange part. I guess if it looks like a pile of grass floating either way the height out of the water is gonna make that much of a difference.

I think they offer a closed cell foam backrest for some padding. I'm also curious about the final attack with a motor and do the wheels affect performance?

If you're interested in building your own, it's a fun, easy project.
Stump jumper makes a 7.5hp LT that some people have used on layouts. A 6.5hp Copperhead SD would be something I'd takea close look at. LT's might be hard to manage in a short boat because you'd have to stand and have to be farther forward in the boat than with a SD. Gas engines may seem heavier than trolling motors, but you have to remember to include the weight of the battery. I haven't done that math, but would certainly be cheaper!

I would definitely take a look at either the MoMarsh DP or the Four Rivers Refuge Runner. I've got a set of each and will be putting a 6.5HP Dixie Mud Motor on the RR this fall.

After reading a lot about the long tail mud motors, the Stump Jumper I believe is by far the most popular that most people use. However, the new design of the Dixie will definitely be hard to beat.

I don't have any experience with the aqua pods or final attack boats but I'm sure they are quality product for most situations.

You like the refuge runner pretty well. If you had to choose one, RR or DP?
