 surface drive build
I am building a surface drive motor from a 27 hp b&s vertical shaft.. i am wondering how long do make the shaft that is going vertical. It is a tall transom boat. Any help greatly appreciated

Depends... what angle is your prop going to enter the water. How far do you want to be able to trim down. What angle is the transom of your boat. The length of that shaft would be one of the last things I would design in a project like this.
