 Hook worms?
Well I took my puppy to the vet today for his rabies and a check up and they did a stool sample and came bak with hook worms. I have never had a dog with them so not to sure what they are. Just wondering how servers they are to my dog. Thanks for any info!

 Re: Hook worms?
One of my labs got them after I put 80 yards of clay and sand in my yard. The vet gave her some type of dewormer and never had the problem again. The vet thinks they were in the clay and sand.

 Re: Hook worms?
Fleas? When a dog eats the fleas or the eggs the parasite starts to grow in their digestive tract. It's not bad if treated. A good dewormer usually knocks them out pretty quick.
I've seen hookworms and tape worms in the last 2 foster dogs I had. 1 I kept. He had tape worms and they showed up 2 weeks later. That was after he was treated for a flea issue. Vet said the worms came from him eating fleas.
