Thats pretty sorry... Sorry to hear that Rod. He seemed like a pretty upfront guy the times that I talked to him. Im sure glad I never went through with getting a boat built by him.

Damn...this is f'ed up. You are going to need to go through a small claims court in order to get this worked out. If you hire an attorney, he will blow through your 5 grand in a few days of prep work. Do you have a copy of a work order, contract, receipt of payment , email communications etc? It sounds pretty black and white, but you need to get your shit in order though. Good luck!

This sucks for you guys. I hope you get it worked out. Luckily when we got gecker'd, we paid by credit card and were able to file a dispute through visa. We got our funds back immediately and just had to wait for the claim to be finalized before we went elsewhere.

i will say that he's always been decent about getting back to me when i'd call/text. i really would prefer that i just get my damn boat but if i need to get on the deposit return train then so be it. my motor is sitting at his shop so it could be painted with the hull. i've got all my emails/texts and paperwork from the bank so i'm good there.

Hopefully you guys have a work order or some kind of receipt if you hand over those kinds of funds, cause if not that will be hard to prove. Thats alot of money to hand over without any kind of paper trail

U know brassy, there's both good and bad, when running your mouth on the ww.surely you realize that chances are slim on gettin the shit slapped out of you,so we gonna call that the good...guessing that's why you continue.
The bad part is that everything you say is in black and white, almost like being recorded.this is what keeps slapping you in the face time and time again.
Causing the crawfish effect.
I never pimped his boats,he is a nice guy.
I never said anything,it is what it is.
If I pimped it was only because...
Ok,it was at least a year since I pimped.
You need to grow up boy.
Like gecker,mudbuddy,deep south,have all proven.
YOU PROVE YOURSELF TO BE FULL OF SHIT......
AGAIN.

One thing ill say guys is that I doubt seriously that anyone bought a boat strictly because of brassos opinion of the guy. Just my .02

not to take up for anybody but im pretty sure when brasso was pimping his boats at the time DS was doing right by folks, you cant tell somebody is just gonna up and screw somebody and when they do thats when you cut ties.

Just calling a spade a spade....
It's not hard to tell, when time and time again,
someone post shit.....then says he never said....
then tries to crawfish his way out.lol.

theres no hope for lil boy brass, but i really hope
that the op and others get this all straight.

What would really suck is if this guy was dealing with a flood and pneumonia, got slowed down but had intentions on doing right by all after recovery .....
And we all ran his name thru the mud because he went thru a hardship that wasn't his fault.

Rod and the OP have both been told checks were on the way, but funds were never received. If you can't or aren't going to do something, don't tell someone that you are going to do it. Those two instances, regardless of what else is going on, would be enough for me to look elsewhere and are enough to warrant this thread, IMO.

First off, I would like to apologize to anyone who has lost a penny due to a sponsor on MMT. I know I'm not responsible for others actions but the last thing I want is anyone getting screwed. I tell sponsors before they come on board that I expect them to take care of our members because we've had a problem sponsor before and don't want a repeat performance.

From now on I'm going to have to set some kind of standards before I allow any startup/small boat builders to come on MMT. It's a shame because a lot of guys have gotten their start on MMT and are now doing well.

I don't know what's going on in the man's life as to why this may have happened (hope it's nothing serious like medical, family etc.) but I sure hope he reads this and get's his shit together because by the looks of it, some legal action is coming, and right soon.

DSC did a lot of advertisement on LA Sportsman. You could post there and see how many other people have had the same outcome.

Hey look who is still building boats......That Uncle J guy! All the smack talk about J, I just don't get it. He may be hard to get in touch with bc he has a real job, but he is a stand up guy.
