Slandering who? Jesse? You believe the ten people who he owes money, or brad, who is saying the same thing he's been saying fir months-poor Jesse. He's a good guy. He's just got a lit going on. Well, that's fine. If he doesn't have time to build boats, he should refund people's money so they can get one elsewhere. People ordered their boats in time for this season and planned on having them because that's what they were told. Now they've got no boat, they've got no money to get one somewhere else and their season's fucked.

brad, did you or did you not tell me that my deposit was/is non-refundable? That it was to hold my place in line, and NOT for materials? Other boat builders seem to think that deposits are for the purchase of materials.
As of this point, I have no boat, no deposit, and no materials. If Jesse is such a stand up guy but he's just got a lot going on, why did he refuse to give my deposit back? We can settle this very easily. If Jesse did not spend my money, he can call his bank in the morning and send my $3000 via electronic transfer, or he can go to any western union and do the same. If he can't do that, why not? Did he spend it on materials? If so, they are mine and I want them. I'll pick them up tomorrow. If not, where did my money go? What was it spent on? Answer that one. It's going to be hard to spin. We'll see who's telling the truth. Simple: Deposit or Materials or he's a thief.

Secondly, some of yall are now under the impression that we're hearing two sides to the story now. We're not. So far, all we've heard from the crook's side is BradS tell us that Jesse told him that the check "is in the mail" as of last week.

One thing a lot of you guys seem to be missing here is Docott isn't the only one having a problem. He isn't even the one who started this thread. There is three other people just on this thread who are having issues. No telling how many others are not coming forward to talk openly about it.

I don't know Jesse or what he has going on, but 4 different customers/suppliers are having issues they have been unable to resolve without posting online does not look good for him. I doubt these guys wanted to have a problem to bitch about, they are here complaining to warn others and maybe get Jesse to come out of the woodwork and explain himself. I have to believe he has seen this thread, and if he hasn't, he at least knows about it and what people are saying. He isn't coming forward to explain himself and that is just making things worse, IMO. He's also lied about sending checks out to his customers, which is another notch in the L column.

I talked to a guy named Richard, I'll have to look up his MMT name, who was if I remember correctly $7000 in the hole with Jesse. I think he may have talked to Jason as well.

I know of a boat that sat at jesse's shop for many months but was never finished. The customer picked up his unfinished hull and brought it to another builder.

I know for an absolute fact that Jesse bragged to an employee about screwing me over...
"we got a new build. Some doctor. I quoted him some outrageous price and he took it".

Point is, as CB said, it's not just me, or the op. There are just too many people and too many stories of people who feel like they haven't been treated well, or worse-they feel like they have been robbed. Sure, there are two sides to every story and yes the truth usually lies in the middle. In this case there are two sides to ten or more stories, decide for yourself where the middle is and you'll find the truth.

Bottom line: I gave him $3000 and got nothing in return. The back story is irrelevant-unless someone can come up with a logical reason why I owed HIM $3000.

That's how it should be, and that's how most of live our lives. When those of who do, do business with those that don't, we take for granted that they are honorable men. When that happens, we get screwed. Lesson learned the hard way, but I'm a man of my word. It's how I choose to live my life, and I'll continue to do business that way, I'll just be more cautious.
