 Re: 6 string
I've been playing for about 20 years now. Traveled in a band full time for a couple of years when I was in my early 20's. had a damn good time back in the day but still play from time to time.

 Re: 6 string
I play a little. No pro by any means. I like playing my own stuff because its easier to learn lol
There are lots if easy songs and tons of hard ones.
Watching someone who is good helps a lot. I learned mostly by watching and listening.

I've been a bass player for fifteen years now. Quit trying to learn songs and learn chords and scales first. You will always regret doing it backwards like that later on.

 Re: 6 string
I used to play guitar pretty frequent. Now it is every so often... And when my daughter needs help trying to figure out a song...but, she relies on YouTube now more than me!
She may not play guitar better than me, but boy howdy can she sing! I learned a long time ago NOT to sing!

I always wanted to learn, but just never did. Been playing drums since I was 10 though, however it's been a while since I've done that even..good luck!

FYI I never started playing the guitar to get women. When you play you escape from reality. With the recent things in my life I need all the escape I can find

 Re: 6 string
I've had a guitar around since I was 8-9 but just got serious about playing in the last year.
I've never had any lessons and don't know the names of most chords I play, I've just really got a knack for playing by ear. I play lead guitar for alot of Classic Rock (Skynyrd, ZZ Top, CCR, shit like that) and I can pretty much figure a song out solo's and all in a few hours.
Practice is all I can tell you. I play atleast 2-3 hours a day most days and at first you will get aggrivated, but it pays off in the end. Singing and playing is a whole nother story, some songs are easier than others but you really have to make playing feel natural so you can sing at the same time.
and bitches love guitars at bonfires.

Been playing bass for 14 years. You never quit learning. I'm in a band with my dad on drums, brother on lead guitar and vocals, brother in law on rhythm and my two sisters on vocals. It gets old but I couldn't imagine not be able to play

 Re: 6 string
A guitar is any song you want to hear when ever you want to hear it.
I've been playing about 11yrs now. I love it. Railed many a slam thanks to Dave and Pink Floyd. My favorite thing now is to drink at the camp, pick a chord progression and make up lyrics on the fly and record it with my buddies. Fucking hilarious the next day.

 Re: 6 string
I could really give 2 fucks if I ever play a sing by a campfire. I can get pussy without it, I did it for 24 years, i just want a realse. I want something to get away other than drugs and alcohol. I already went down that path and I am about to pay for it.

 Re: 6 string
Old Crow Medicine Show's Wagon Wheel is an easy one, its a G D E C progression with a little imbellishment on the C.

Been playing for years, worked at a music shop for a few years, now I'm back at the same store. Makes it hard to keep your paycheck when all you have is toys around you!
Im saving up for a Martin D-100 Deluxe.
