I think it's geared different than the belt drives. Supposed to be 1.5:1, right? That will give up a little top end for bottom end grunt.

I think that's what I read. That's what allows them the extra rpm's to spin that big ass prop and get it to dig.

I call bull shit with same speed with 2 or 4 people. It's a so called 52 hp motor not a 200hp.

Ill give ya 3 but not 4, unless they were grade school kids.

I would believe that speed with the gear ratio being 1.5:1. I just did a carb, heads, and exhaust motor on an 18'x54" GTB that was not ultra light and with 4 it is running a steady 30 and 33 with one.

Now these speeds weren't ran in 100' of water, they were ran in about 4'. Water depth plays a roll in loaded speed.

1.5:1 has some fri kin torque, I def believe u not gonna lose a lot of top end with a load
