Was wondering for theories height pins that's go in the hole to adjust angle what or where can I get a good pin to replace the screw with the locknut I have on it now. If just rather add a pin so that when I do get in a bind I wouldn't have to break out the crescent wrenches. Pics would be good too thanks

Buy a mercury pin and put the factory bolt in the bottom hole. Use the merc pin when u runnin in the middle hole. If u need to drop to the bottom hole, just pull the merc pin and roll out.

Gotcha. So the merc pin your talking about that's the little rod right? With one side that flips straight them to a T to lock

It is and I know a few more that doing the same thing but I guess I could get an extra cotter pin incase I happen to drop the sob in the water Bn known to have issues with that!

Lowes sells a pin with a handle one one side and a ball bearing on the other that way u don't even have to mess with a clip. That's what I had used

If you get a bolt to use as a pin make sure you one that is hard enough,like grade 8, to take the impacts of the motor hitting it. As far as keeper pins go I had mine come out and the bolt stayed in place for several trips through some stump fields.

The old mercury pins work good that's what im using ..

put the original bolt in the bottom hole and use a quick pin for the top 2.....that way when you get in the thick stuff you can pull the quick pin and it drops to the third hole without having to put a pin in.

I tried saying that on like post 3 lol. I had the whole pin pull thing and it gets old pulling it bc u gotta have a pin tight enough to stay in with vibrations and rolling upside down yet loose enough u don't have to have pliers to yank it out. Get the mercury pin and call it a day u will throw that other junk away

Ill be keeping the same bolt I was supplied w my motor. Puttin it in the bottom hole and usin this one as a quick pin will e faster and easier than the merc

What's holding yours in? Is it tapered?

It's hard to beat the speed of a half turn and pull of the merc pin

Haven't got a chance to get on the mill to put a retainer. Gt a few ideas though
Didn't wanna taper it seem like it would put all the stress on that one side of the frame.
