 UNCLE J
I am going to get a new boat , I was thinking about getting gatortail 17/54 extreme, with all I want on it with gt35 and have calen to do the motor. Now I thinking about getting uncle J to do it. I have a lot of thing that I have took from other boat that I like. I email J a little I know he is busy so I have a few ?? How long does he take to build / GT is about 8 weeks. Will he do a complete boat motor ready to hit the water? And do gator motor run good on his boat? Sorry for All the ?? Just want to get this right this time thanks for any input

I don't think he is a sponsor on here anymore but you can PM him for information. Of course you can always text him so "good" pictures and he'll respond quicker. Lol

 Re: UNCLE J
I've got an 1854 3/16 Uncle J. Love the boat. Very efficient ride. Fast boat stable. Does 29 mph on a stock 35 gtr.(solo). Only thing I did not like was the grab bar. I fixed that.
Some folks drive sitting down. I drive standing up so I made an adjustable grab bar.
J is a hell of a guy. Very fair. Excellent craftsmanship.
My build took about 8 weeks.
Also once you close the deal with J (CASH) give him room to work. He is very busy. He is not ignoring you. He just has tons of work ahead of your build. Once your number is up you will have his undivided attention.
Thank me later when you get your boat.

 Re: UNCLE J
Good things come to those who wait. I am completely satisfied with my uncle j boat being pushed by Gator Tail motors and without a doubt let him build me another one.

J built mine and I am very happy with it. He is a first class guy and will help you in any way through out the build. If your serious send some cash his way and he will build you just about anything you want.

 Re: UNCLE J
He can be hard to get in touch with. But, the guy does have a life outside of boat building...and is also giving attention to the guy he is actually building a boat for...the guy who has already given him a deposit and a design. If you are truly serious about getting a boat and not just a window shopping, price searching guy, your best bet is to ask him for an address to send a deposit to get in line for your build. Chances are, you send a deposit today, you are still waiting behind minimum three or four boats in front of you. Depending on options, you looking at anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks for finished boat once he starts.
He gets umpteen phone calls, text messages and emails every day from people wanting to know, "How much will you charge me to build a boat?" Put yourself in his shoes. Of umpteen requests a day, you may get one actual buyer a week. How do you separate window shoppers from real customers? The ones that are persistent, the ones without attitudes, the ones that put their money where their mouth is. Set yourself apart from the window shoppers. Look at all the satisfied customers he has. He is going to do everything within reason to be certain you get what you want...and you are happy with what you get. Send him a deposit and work out the design details and final price after you have his attention. I bet you get his attention! LOL
Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone.

 Re: UNCLE J
Is it bad to have a built in gas tank in the front ? I like how the beavertail boat has the bow of the boat with a lower deck and the trolling motor set a little higher . Does anyone have one like this and how do you like it ? Where is his shop I was trying to map it to see how far it is just to get a idea thanks

 Re: UNCLE J
He does not do aluminum tanks, but he can set it up where your tank is in a permanent position with the fuel cap on the front deck. Your tank would be hidden in the front deck.

 Re: UNCLE J
It's been my experience that Unc J does not like doing aluminum gas tanks. But I think if you pressure him enough, he will.
