I didn't have time to really mess with the blind, I did take a Lil black and green spray paint and painted some shadows n it.

Not a whole lot, sometimes less is more. Mostly around the knuckles. I ordered a few of the green mats to cut up and weave in and out of it.

I plan on putting the green mat and dying the raffia brown or maybe painting it. Everything is n the mail at this point tho. One thing I'm really concerned with is I never painted the galvanized conduit like a jackass. I gotta figure out something to do with that I suppose

If your ducks are getting that close without being shot at then im not sure painting that conduit is going to help.
dont wory about it mine is not painted either if you roll the mat over the top you dont see much if any of it anyways

Get raffia and dye it with Rit. Get a couple of cheap tubs or trash cans and you can dye several bundles at a time. The raffia zip ties in perfectly. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371641141.070780.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371641193.705555.jpg

These are from last summer, as they fade and get a little beaten up they start to look better. I've painted and used die. Your blind looks awesome.

It's not all raffia, I tied raffia over the fast grass mats. The raffia helped break up the mat look. It's on a scissor frame so it all lays down on itself .

I bought 3 fast grass mats per side and 8 bundles of grass . I used OD green, brown. I would mix a little black with the brown and OD green to calm the color down a little. I got the raffia at Academy the week after season a couple of years ago for $2.00 a bundle. I bought everything they had.

These were the 2 colors I used. Micheal's didn't have the liquid in the colors I wanted so I bought the powder.
The dark green actually came out lighter than the box coloring. The black actually didn't come out black either. The raffia absorbs only so much coloring. It'll be lighther when done dying while still wet. It will darken a little after drying.

Well the blind is done. I had to cover the front deck and fill n the back. I ordered 2 green mats that I'm gonna cut apart for some green and if its not enough I'm gonna use raffia.

Question: what r u guys doing to cover the front deck where the blind stops. I usually sit at the front deck but on a bucket on the floor and drake sits on the front deck cuz if he can't see he don't shut up. I work him off the front deck and if I got to keep fixing that may on the deck that's gonna b Agravating as fuck lol any suggestions?

I tied in strips of the max 4 camo sheeting you cand find for cheap after the season to my fast grass. Broke it up a bit, but I'm gonna add some more green this year.
