Re: Boiling shrimp
I mainly use Tony's for seasoning. My method is easy and always worked for me. 1- bring seasoned water to boil 2- drop in shrimp 3- as soon as water starts to boil again, kill the fire. 4- let shrimp soak for 1 to 2 min 5- drain and eat em

Re: Boiling shrimp
Be sure to season your ice water as well.

Re: Boiling shrimp
Bring water to boil --- put in shrimp -- when a foam apears pretty good on the top of the water shut it off and dump a ton of ice in there -- let soak about 20 mins

Re: Boiling shrimp
Back on the boiled shrimp....cap full of white vinegar in your water....and some butter just before you turn the fire off.
If you are doing just a small amount on the stove top, it will take longer to come to a boil. You may not have to wait for it to boil. Shrimp do not take long to cook and even less time to overcook them to where the shell sticks to the meat. Best method is to watch them closely.
Season your water VERY well. As opposed to crawfish or crabs, you are counting on the soak to add seasoning and flavor to your seafood. With shrimp, you do not want to overcook nor oversoak. Delicate balance indeed.

Re: Boiling shrimp
We dry boil (steam) ours now. Use swamp fire for seasoning. I get a more consitant peel by doing this versus boiling.
