 Expanded metal double bottom
Has anyone done this?
I think it would be a good lightweight solution and I could wash all the mud and the shit to the back a lot easier. What ya think?

 Re: Expanded metal double bottom
Only problem I could think of is dropping anything small enough to go through the holes in the floor, i.e. small bolts, stuff like that.

 Re: Expanded metal double bottom
I've bow fished off a boat with expanded metal and it sucked. Everything got hung in it. It flex 2 much. Its ugly as hell. The only place expanded metal belongs in the everyday world is BBQ pits.

It would really suck if you fell. You must not have children?

Terrible for a dog! Could catch a toe/nail and break a bone, uncomfortable on pads, can't glue hydrotruf to, etc.

 Re: Expanded metal double bottom
maybe you could find something more like a perforated sheet with holes or slots cut/punched in it. price would prob be more than a standard sheet but weight would be less..

I did a .100 gauge full welded floor. Can't hardly get any lighter without it flexing when you walk.
