Re: BUILD!
i riveted the mu pipes together next im gonna weld where they meet. the rivets are holding the inner pipe so it doesent moove around. the black tape was so the 3/4 wouldnt moove apart from each other wen i was puting the rivets

Re: BUILD!
What I did to connect the two 3/4 joints together was to take an 18" piece of 3/4 emt and split it down the seam lengthwise. Using a vice I squeezed it and sort of rolled it into itself kind of like rolling up a newspaper. It took some trial and error to get it to slip into the other joints but provides a very strong connection. I then put two rivets into each side. I tried the 1/2 inch inside but there was just too much play for my liking.

Re: BUILD!
Are you sure you want your blind to be sticking out past the gunnels? One tree, and that sucker is toast.

Re: BUILD!
FYI on Dixie. I owned 2 of them and did not have trouble but this is why.
1. Direct drive. No Clutch. 2. Manual trim. Do not go with power trim 3. Gen 2 Dixie 13hp and 23 hp No bolts 4. I balanced my prop
Mine was very well built and easy to service. Simple design and parts are easy to purchase online. The problem was they would not answer the phone during duck season and I was basically screwed over a $4.00 bearing. Once I figured out all the internals I stocked up on spare parts and was good to go.
I think they had shaft issues to work out as well.
Do yourself a favor. Buy a gator tail

Re: BUILD!
If you are going with Dixie. Make sure they are using the gen II (No bolts) on the motor/transom pivot point. The new design will incorporate 2 grease fittings and it's welded.
As you already know No clutch on a Dixie. It will break every single time. Same goes for power trim. Do not go with power trim. Never !!!
I would never go with anything over a 23 briggs on a Dixie. Yes the welding is top notch and components are good but the cost of a 35 is not enticing enough.
Also need to balance your props.
Once you run a gator tail (With Reverse) you will understand the difference. I ran 2 dixies, One Mud buddy 45 mag (Monster motor) and my 35 gtr.
Best of luck !!

Re: BUILD!
Same concept as this . Just bigger. Use 4 bearings and copper pipe instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtEIhWQtxVo
