I think you are onto something. Straight nat gear is too "busy" for many circumstances. Breaking it up is a good way to go. The rest depends on what sort of areas you hunt. It is a little light for me, but our marshes are mostly green/brown mud and dead brown wide leaf reeds with small patches of that color of reeds. I'd vote for the one on the right.

Thanks for the replies. I decided I did want the rusty fall brown color but I put the mud brown on first and the fall brown on last and came up with this. Gonna start the boat today.

Add a touch of a spring green, not much but just a little to throw some contrast in there.... contrast is the camo...

Thanks... im considering starting a new business.... part time painting 2-3 boats a month....I really need to make about a grand or 2 more a month to keep up with these damned kids and their sports and activities... next year my oldest will be in highschool and to keep him in the catholic private school for high school is double what elementry and middle school were... so if there is enough intrest ill be the next mmt sponsor.... we will see though... I prolly start a thread in the next week or 2.... ive sent emails to some of the stencil makers and trying to nail down what my costs would be.

Well good luck. That looks better than any grass camo on the market. Have a few different color variations and you should be able to make some cash.

I think what i would have people take pics of their most common hunting environment and each paint job would be custom tailored to that area. the patterns would pretty much be the same with differing color. and i would do a marsh and a timber pattern.
