Painting a boat ? what kinda paint to use is the best ?

Army Surplus paint if you can find it anymore.. The stuff they paint tanks with.. You can take a gallon of it; cut it half and half with some reducer and make 2 gallons.. did this on one of my boats and worked real well.. didnt do a whole lot of prep work before laying the paint down.. That was 8 years ago, paint still looks ok... Just getting hard to find that paint anymore..
