SETX performance heads vs Iron Mtn?
Which seem to be the most preferred? I heard in 2012 that IM really cut back on the performance of them. Is Cody still in business, dont see much on here from him anymore? It's for a 45 mag with a carb and exhaust if it matters...so I am thinkn a good set of heads will really make a difference....thanks guys

You can try Cody, but if ur in a hurry he may not be ur guy. There are some guys on here that can do heads as well.

Hoyt , Calen , And Jamie B are the other I would look to before I would consider iron mountain

Do these guys do my heads or I just swap out heads with them? Can't hardly be without my boat during duck season...

Re: SETX performance heads vs Iron Mtn?
To whoever it may concern...keep in mind that its port shape and valve work that makes horsepower, not a shiny finish...shiny pretty finishes are really just a sales pitch for people who don't know no better. I'd venture to say that Cody's head in pic 1 flows a good bit better than the IM head in pic 2, but not because its prettier and shinier and smoother. Carry on.

Re: SETX performance heads vs Iron Mtn?
a good seal is the most important thing about head work with these small motors. Factory installed valves won't hold water. Until you match the ports from intake to heads and bench them you don't know what you have done. Valves that seal make for a sweet running engines. Cams and compression is what builds HP.
