Post motor wont start
I have a 06 mud buddy 29 hp
Ran it a couple of weeks ago and ran great..charged the battery and went to start it today, it turns over but just wont seem to grab to start. When it does catch for a second, it just goes back to spinning (trying to start soo to speak)

Any ideas?

Make sure the butterfly is closing all the way, is it getting enough fuel? Is it getting too much fuel?

Either not getting spark or fuel one or the other
Try some ether in the air filter
If it cranks then dies I would start looking at your Fuel line to see if your getting fuel to the engine, then the filter then the fuel pump and finally see if your needle valves stuck

If the ether doesn't make it try to crank check your plugs, kill switch etc to see if your getting spark

My memory is faiiing, but didn't MB offer the 29 with either the Kawasaki or the Vanguard? In either case check for spark first. If it has spark it is probably fuel delivery. If there is no spark the next step depends on the brand. Again, if I remember correctly the Kaw was injected and the Vanguard had a carb. Which brand do you have?

put new plugs Hit it with some starting fluid. If it backfires or tries to run you got spark. If it back fires or runs backwards check your timing key. other wise check your carb/fuel pump/fuel system.
Check if you have a low oil sensor or a mercury switch killing the motor.

Sounds like you're getting spark if it tried to start. Either fuel delivery or choke issue. If you have a fuel bulb, pump it real good. If you have a fuel pump, take the line off at the carb and turn it over to see if you're getting fuel, if you are, choke may not be working.
