Picked up the boat right before the new year from GT. Put about 8 hours on it so far. Thankfully for me the water has been super low in the areas I fish so I was able to hop on some mud flats and try it out. First SD for me and I'm happy I went with a complete package from GT. Deep water speeds with no load and 2 people was 27 mph. Shallow water/Mud best was 30mph. I might be able to get another mph given a long enough stretch. Glad I got reverse, I've been in two situations so far that required either reverse, or a tow. Turns reasonably for a flat bottom boat, just have to get the skeg down in the water to turn tight and slow down a bit. I'll try to get some pictures when I get a chance.

If anyone in the New Orleans area has some good winter fishing spots, PM me and I got the rig ready to go, spud poles and trolling motor. I heard they were getting them pretty good down in Oak River, but I'm not real familiar with that area.

Any other questions just shoot and I'll do my best to answer.

Congrats on the rig sir. You can do anything you want with that boat. When u get 50 or so hours on it, gut the exhaust, add mikuni carb and deck heads. Be a bad mofo. Good luck with the new rig.

Why deck the heads? I'm satisfied with the performance as it is. I got the rig as dual purpose, fish/hunt. I can't believe how fast a 45lb thrust trolling motor moves this thing. I almost got a 70lb. Lol. I haven't really talked to Bubba to much about the mods. But I'm trying to avoid getting into modding it. I'll get carried away.

Season the heads then let the motor breathe a little better. When ya prop wears down and ur fat buddy and all y'all's beer and fishing shit slow dat bitch down, it'll make more sense. I got the same setup and doing these mods in the next month. I'll give an update on the difference.

O boy, that's funny! I have allot of machining experience and I'm a seasoned mechanic. Maybe i can just do the head work myself. Do you have to tune the carb when you get it? Check the plugs, then adjust jets?

Lmao, i will say one thing, this thing gets more attention on the highway and gas stations than i expected. Covered by a blind, being flat black doesn't matter. No glare off of it anyway to spook birds. I like it.

Thanks, I knew I was taking a chance, but it ended up nice. Easy to touch up also with flat black enamel. I think maybe sometime in the future I may need to do a card and gut the muffler so the sound matches the look.

Got 31 mph today with a tail wind . I think that's pretty good for a factory GTR35. Got some fish while i was freezing my ass off too. Lol
