 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
I got in some thick grass up on the lake and I couldn't go forward or backwards. Maybe some of you pro GTR drives could have got out but woodie had to pull me out. I don't really know if a pd would have got out or not because I've never seen one in that grass.

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
2 more weeks of duck season then y'all can show me all this new technology pd has and prove yo me they are better than a outboard. As of now I put them on the side of a 25 merc lol

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
This past weekend I got in some bad shit. 3" of water and was just slap full of laid down Lilly stalks. Even when on step you had to clean out. I should love to get a group of us in that shit

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
Ive never had to be pulled out of anything that had more than a foot of water under it, including stuff you can get out and walk on and not break through the grass, in the GTR or the PD. But the key in those situations of course is HP.

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
And we pay thousands of dollars for 1-3 mph. Gatortail sells one prop and doesn't offer different gears at least not that I've seen

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
I pay thousands to step a hunting load and run 28-30 mph, and to be able to power through thick grass that puts stock motors in a bind. I've hardly put a GPS to mine since the mods. All I know is that it turns 4700 rpm light boat, and 4500 loaded.

I'm curious to see what my motor would do on a lightweight gatortail boat like a 17x48

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
Banded mallard have to agree with you. When you go look at the promo videos on both sites one runs nothing but rice fields and the other is vegetation. We all know both motors have there advantages and disadvantages. Pretty much we all will back our investments regards if they are the best or not. Just like with our boats I don't believe anybody can't say they wouldn't change something on the next build.

 Re: Best mudmotor in vegetation!
If the gatortaila are alittle longer than the prodrives not sure if anybody has done this yet and mounted a prodrive to a hydraullic jackplate. Take jackplate put upside down and it will give you roughly 5" of straight downward travel

I love how in one of the videos you guys posted they are comparing a dual Gtr to a single pd. Lets compare apples to apples. I mean that's like comparing a pinto to a corvette. Just Saying
