Cable no feedback vs hydraulic steering
Has anyone tried both? Im converting my boat to remote steer. Cable nfb is 180 and entry level hydraulic is 600. Ive had 200hp bass boats with cable and it worked fine but never ran a mud motor with either. What yall think?

I've heard of the cable steering breaking when people get in a bind. I would go hydraulic just for the simple fact that u would be done with it.

Re: Cable no feedback vs hydraulic steering
I was thinking of leaving the tiller on for the rough stuff. We don't have thick mud like y'all but we do have vegetation. I may go with hydraulic anyway but the costs are adding up. 515 for a steering conversion from gator tail!

Re: Cable no feedback vs hydraulic steering
I have driven both and I will say hydraulic is the only way to go cable steering seems to really Pull back and forth and takes a lot of steering to correct itself

Go Hydraulic and be done! You can let go of steering wheel and walk to front of boat while running and it stays on course The rest is just cheap ass ways out

Cable no feedback vs hydraulic steering
Most people are using side mount. But, some are using center mount...with some minor mods to their motor mounts via grinding disc from what I have been reading.

Yeah I've only seen side mount. Seems like the timber I hunt could snag that sucker quick
